Catalina Island
Azha: "OMG Catalina was extravagant! My favorite part was snorkeling and swimming with the fish underwater."
Taylor: "Catalina was probably my favorite Excursion. It was one of the prettiest places I have ever seen."
Today was probably one of the best days of my life. We woke up really early this morning so we could catch a boat that would take us to Catalina Island. The boat ride there was really windy, but very relaxing. We even spotted a whale in the water. Once we got there we split up into groups and started exploring the island. First, we went into a couple of shops then we grabbed some pizza. After our stomachs were quite satisfied, we rented this uncomfortable snorkeling gear and went snorkeling. The water was freezing at first and under the water were these medium to large-sized rocks that moved every time a wave would come to shore. That resulted in us tripping and falling a million times. That was probably the worst part. We went underwater and a plethora of orange and green fish surrounded us in the clear water. After we went snorkeling it was time to catch the boat ride back and most of us fell asleep because all the sun soaked up our energy. It was such a gorgeous day and that's a place I would go back and visit one day in the future.

Jason Samuels Smith Tap
Taylor: "Jason's Advanced Tap Repertory class was a really great experience, even though tap is not my specialty."
Earlier this week Ms. Allen came in each Level's class and told us that whoever thinks they can tap pretty well to go and take Tap Master Jason Samuels Smith's Rep class. At first I wasn't going to go because I didn't think I could handle the class, but a few of my classmates persuaded me to go and just try it out, so I did. The first day was pretty good and as the week went by it got more challenging. Jason told us on the first day that if it gets to the point where this is too difficult for us that he wouldn't be offended at all if we decide to pull ourselves out of the piece. I wasn't about to just quit just because I wasn't in my comfort zone, so me and a few other dancers went into open space in the game room at the dorms and practiced the steps several times until we got it down packed. Of course it was frustrating because I knew tap wasn't my thing, but I was happy I did it because there's always going to be times in life when I can't grasp something right of the bat, but I need to work hard to overcome it.

Taylor - "My shoes were on point!"
The White party was great. We had a really long prep to get ready because you know us girls always have to look bomb. So to start off we went to Foxhill mall in Westfield so that some people could get there nails done and buy a few extra things. We were on a time limit. We almost got left because we lost track of time. But good thing one of the RAs, Kevin, called us. We returned to the dorms and everyone showered and got ready. We all finally got dressed and saw everyones outfits. Everyone looked so nice in their white. The party was on an amazingly beautiful yacht. There were four levels, and our favorite levels were the third and fourth. We liked the third level because it was the one with the dance floor, and we liked the fourth because of the view of the water. There was a fashion show where everyone got to show off their outfits. There was a photo booth so that we could save memories. Also there was face painting, body art, and hennas. In the last few photos you can see Azha's henna on her hand. We danced the entire night...cause that's we do. It was a little humid but we looked passed that because of the tons of fun we were having. That night was incredible and we will DEFINITELY remember it FOREVER !

Movie Night With DADA

Today after a long, hard day of putting in work at the academy, we went to the movies. The Rave cinema was right next to DADA, so we just walked there...in a single file like we were kindergartners on the fourth day of school. We waited in this treacherous, long line just to pay for a ticket. We finally got up to the window and exclaimed, "Yes...One for Planet of the Apes". Everyone wanted to see The Purge 2 but it was sold out. We were a little disappointed in the beginning, but once we watched Planet of the Apes that disappointment disappeared. We arrived back to the dorms late at night. It was really hectic considering we have to get ready for the White Party the tomorrow. Talk to you guys later, we have to get our hair fixed.

Taylor - "I had a lot of fun! The cool breeze...the fresh air, and all my friends"
Azha - "I enjoyed the beautiful weather, and just hanging out with old friends and new friends. I was so happy that I didn't get a sun burn".
Well, today was beyond amazing. The food was delicious. We ate BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, macaroni and cheese, Hawaiian rolls, salad, and many other scrumptious foods. We buried Ketreon in the sand. We took many pictures - as you can see. We hung out by the pool and played games upstairs of the beach house. It was a place we would love to visit again!
